The Brooks Bengal Band Booster became a recognized 501(c)(3) organization in July 2024, marking a pivotal step in our ongoing mission to support the Bengal Band program at Somerset Academy Brooks. Since its inception in 2021, the Bengal Band has been at the heart of school spirit, growing into the largest spirit organization on campus and contributing significantly to both school pride and musical excellence.

As a 501(c)(3) organization, we are uniquely positioned to provide enhanced support to our band students and their director. This status enables us to offer tax-deductible donations, making it easier for community members, businesses, and organizations to support a cause that directly benefits our students. The funds we raise go directly toward essential resources such as uniforms, instruments, and equipment, ensuring our students have the tools they need to succeed.

Our students are not only musicians but also active members of the community. They engage in community service, perform at football games and pep rallies, and participate in prominent local events like the San Antonio Flambeau Parade and the Poteet Strawberry Festival Parade. Additionally, we proudly host the annual Bengal Band Banquet, celebrating the year's accomplishments and honoring our dedicated students. Through these activities, we strive to instill positive character traits, enhance their school experience, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music.

We invite you to be a part of this exciting journey. Join us in supporting the Bengal Band and making a lasting impact on the lives of our students.

I love band because it gives you success, the confidence, the passion, and of course the music. You can always get better and better and it teaches you things that don’t normally get put out in front of you. You grow in skills, your stamina, your mental strength and friendships that you can cherish and hold onto for eternity.

Damion

I love band because it’s a safe space where you are able to be yourself and be passionate about what you love the most. Another thing is you get to see how much growth you’ve achieved and you can be proud of yourself for that. Being in band, I’ve met some of the greatest people and made plenty of memories, but I also have learned how every day you can improve and how to self-discipline, that's why I would recommend joining band.
